This coming Wednesday we hit the two months left in Africa mark. Long ago we all came to the conclusion that none of us will miss the chicken coop. Fresh eggs are great, little chicks are cute but the roosters are just plain cocky. The sun is not up at 4:00 in the morning but they are and they don’t stop crowing until the sun is too hot and I think they have given themselves a headache. 11:00 AM rolls around and they’re still going- “the sun has been up for like five hours now, I get it that it’s morning.” Sorry but you will not be missed-unfortunately there is nothing I can do for the next 2 months. Unless I take up Jesse’s advice and go rooster punching. You see roosters have terrible eye sight and if you are quiet enough they don’t see you coming. You can stand right in front of them and be a ghost. You just sit there and wait for him crow one more time and you can sock em in the face pretty good. Been contemplating this plan of action for the past 5 months- don’t think I’ll get around to it in the next two.

I WHOLEHEARTEDLY support the rooster-punching. Those animals deserve to be eaten… It’s also the harsh reality that they don’t “crow at dawn” like they do in the books and movies, but every hour ON the hour…psycho-freakin-birds…
Don’t give up Jenessa! You guys can win this battle! Find the alpha male rooster and give him a message to take to the rest of his crew. A PUNCH to the face!
