Guard played by Sir Peter Swati and Genazer being myself
On approach to my front door.
Guard- Genazer! Genazer!
Considering I am the only one home and he was clearing looking for me, I slip out from under my mosquito net and pulled on a sweater to answer the door
Genazer- Good morning.
Guard- (in a most apologetic manner)o hello, I just came to say sordi (sorry) so sordi.  I heard you are ill.
Genazer- Ya I’m not feeling well.
Guard-( trying to discern if I am dieing)O so sordi, I have not seen you since you arrived in the mornings.
Genazer- Ya I have been sleeping a lot, I am very tired.
Guard-O what are you suffering?
Genzaer- They say I have an infection- the medicine makes me very tired.
Guard-I am doing well.
Still in zombie mode I respond-
Genazer- O that is good, very good.
Guard- ya………
Guard- you must take tea.  You should not starve in that way, you must take tea.
Genazer- Yes, that is a good idea.
Guard- You will be okay, we are praying for you.  You will be healed.
Genazer-Thank you very much.
Guard- Well ,good day.
Genazer- I will see you again.
Translation (What this man was really telling me)
Young maiden you are ailed and we have been most concerned for your heallthy.  This is tragic, tragic indeed.  What is the extent of this misfortune?  I see you are wearied…but have no fear for I will slay all mamble jamble that threatens you in the night.  It shall be slain.  I daresay you must take tea, I cannot bear to see you suffer in these conditions.  It is most pertinent that you go take tea.  If I have failed to persuade you, I shall fall upon my sword- disgraced.  Lady for the sake of my life and your own—–take tea……..I am doing well thank you-good day.
Even though I feel far from home and miss loved ones while I am sick, I find myself sufficiently taken care of; being visited regularly by the base guards/knights who watch over us day and night.  I am quite alright and it is only a matter of time until I regain my strength the infections, worms and amebas will pass.  The base is quiet with the majority of the team on outreach but it has been a good time of rest and thought and prayer.  I will admit being sick has discouraged me but God meets me where I’m at and consistently has new things to teach me.  Despite the fact that life is not always to my liking God has a plan and will always use an obedient heart.

  1. Janessa, I am so sorry to hear that you are still fighting illness. Our physical & spiritual are often tied together, but you sound like you are holding your own with Jesus holding you. Another place where we wonder & we trust, as Paul, too, watched friends be sick and yet knew that God heals. (Phil 2:25-27,& 2 Tim. 4:20) We will “Rejoice” when this trial passes. I will be praying for “health” in particular.

  2. Praying for you Jenessa 🙁 Sorry you’re down and out again. Bring kingdom regardless!
