That’s just not about points
Outreach week- reasonable expectations…… lots of walking, sleeping in tents, at least one crusade, lots of teaching and preaching and testimonies, at least one performance at the pleasure of the mzungu choir, and a million home visits. Our daily activity at the heat of the day is walking from home to home- this is a little different than knocking on every door on the block. Generally to get from one home to its neighbor involves walking through maize fields and cattle lands, over and around a hill or two and winding through patches of bushes. The way is long and hot but as twelve we feel like the disciples. We sing along the way and laugh along the way. The sun is hot and unwavering but sometimes we don’t give it any attention. Each home is a challenge of listening to the Spirit and being obedient to the words that need to be spoken. Sometimes we see a lot of people, sometimes not. Sometimes one house visit takes hours others we discover peace and hope and find ourselves on our way in no time. It is nice to meet people along the way, isn’t that how Jesus met many? So many stories of miracles and wondrous signs begin with “only the way to…Jesus met a man…”

good word Jenessa 🙂
Love the picture of the disciples and Jesus walking along the way. (Easy for me to say, huh?) But truly,”listening to the Spirit and being obedient to the words…” is invaluable. The American church seems to do so much “tradition learned by rote”, you have “chosen the better part”. God bless and keep you.
